The A-FAST 10 L-Ion battery cooling nozzle is a lightweight easy to assemble nozzle designed for the cooling of Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries. The nozzle does not extinguish the battery fire but cools the battery pack from beneath the vehicle. The benefit of the A-FAST 10 is its ability to flow water at a lower pressure. This allows it to be directly supplied from a fire hydrant to permit the fire apparatus to be available for other purposes.

The nozzle and tip pipe is attached to an aluminum base plate / skid unit for stability. The nozzle tip flows between 50 and 90 gallons per minute.

The assembly consists of the A-FAST 10 base system, about 72 inches long (yellow reflective tape) and ONE 36-inch extension pipe (red reflective tape) for a total of 108 inches total (9 feet). Extension pipes can be added in any number to increase the distance from the personnel operating the system, but they must be slid along the ground to prevent damage to the pipes.
